We could even take the bike to go to certain manufacturers...

Local manufacturing

La Pantoufle à Pépère is a meeting between the North, the textile region par excellence, and Charente, the ancestral cradle of the Charente slipper. The collections are designed in Lille, and it is in Charente that they see the light of day. A long friendship and real trust bind us today to the Charentais workshop with which we work.
The making of our Charentaises respects all the stages of the traditional so-called “sewn and returned” manufacturing of the slipper. Our Charentaises arrive at the pace of production, that is to say, according to needs, without overproducing. Our site offers regular deliveries all year round. Here it's the opposite of overconsumption, we consume less but better.

“Ecology is like a romantic relationship, someone has to take the first step otherwise it won’t move forward”

Leave nature alone

La Pantoufle à Pépère does not choose multinationals on the other side of the globe to produce cheaper, but local factories with which we have built relationships of trust. Working with nearby suppliers can significantly reduce the carbon footprint. Our Charentaises arrive at the rhythm of production according to needs, without overproducing.

Producing in France has multiple benefits. Geographic proximity facilitates commercial exchanges and responsiveness is paramount.
What a bonus? Why look elsewhere for what you know how to do close to home? Buying French also means making a contribution to employment in France. And employment concerns us all.

Selecting luxurious, quality raw materials is one thing. When they are French it's better...

Our products have the diploma of excellence

Our Charentaises have an IGP (Protected Geographic Identification) for their artisanal production. This guarantees:
- manufactured in Charente / Périgord
- a natural woven felt sole
- reverse-stitched construction (this means that the upper is sewn to the sole and it is much more solid!)

Our caps and newsboys are made by a Living Heritage Company.
The EPV is a label of excellence delivered by the French State to around ten companies handpicked to guarantee their artisanal know-how passed down from generation to generation.
