«La Pantoufle à Pépère» or old-fashioned but stylish -made in France-
To be « pantouflard », is a state of mind. A cool attitude that is assumed. A clear commitment to natural materials and to the environment. Our « charentaises » (= French for slippers produced in Charente) are conquering the feet of fashionistas and those who appreciate the comfort of natural fibres. Our « charentaises » are urban, retro and quirky… and they are available up to size 48 !
A few years ago, La Pantoufle à Pépère decided to restore the pedigree to « charentaises » slippers which were being progressively forgotten. Considered too sad. Too old-fashioned also. Today, genuine traditional « charentaises » are once again appreciated at their true value and wearers are once again enjoying the cosy comfort of these long-neglected slippers… Our motto : real Charentaises or nothing ! La Pantoufle à Pépère charentaises are produced by artisans in the Charente region. And yes … Charente … Charentaises. The real know-how is there/local. The original manufacturing method has not changed and the felt soles are sewn - rather than glued – to the fabric that is lined with virgin wool. 100% natural, and far more durable – and it is so important to perpetuate the traditions that are part of our historic heritage … So, what are you waiting for ? It’s time to order a pair !
From Charentaises, to « Espadrilles » (= beach shoes) and Caps, La Pantoufle à Pépère makes the old-fashioned glamorous and the natural choice.
